Author

Traci Ison Schafer is an award-winning author and speaker who is actively involved in the writing communities in her current state of Oklahoma and her home state of Ohio. She has served as Vice President of the Oklahoma Writers’ Federation and President of the Oklahoma City Writers, and is a founding member of The Plot Sisters, an Ohio critique group.

Traci has a bachelor’s degree in science education and a master’s degree in business. She currently works for the federal government where she began her career at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the long-rumored original location of the Roswell aliens and their downed spacecraft. This made it the perfect opening setting for her debut novel, The Anuan Legacy, the first book in her young adult science fiction series.

Traci’s writing has earned several awards, including Independent Publisher Book Award (IPPY) in Science Fiction, National Indie Excellence Awards (NIEAs) in both Science Fiction and New Adult, and Independent Author Network (IAN) Science Fiction Book of the Year.

When not busy with her government or writing careers, Traci enjoys girls’ days with her daughter, playing with her grandsons, tossing a frisbee to her golden retriever, or a late-night Yahtzee game (or ten) with her parents.
